Business took me to Chicago recently, and I had a little time to arrange a meeting with Dr. Jerry Coyne, author of “Why Evolution Is True.” The good Dr. was open to a visit, and he graciously spent a half hour or so entertaining my thoughts on belief, discussion of his thoughts on free will, and general thoughts on the incompatibility of religious thinking and scientific thinking. (This latter topic is the subject of his soon-to-be-released book).
After making my way to campus on a gorgeous October afternoon…
… and stopping to eat a personal sized Edwardo’s stuffed spinach and pepperoni pizza…
I found Dr. Coyne’s lair (and Professor “Ceiling Cat” himself!)
And wrestled an autograph from the author (along with a prized cat drawing)
