It is becoming increasingly common for damaged companies to rebrand themselves. Nothing particularly new there, but the number of companies moving to the letter “A” is interesting.
Is an “A” brand a way out of negative, or pejorative opinion? Novell has been bought out by “AttachMate.” Philip Morris became “Altria”, to shed the stench of tobacco. GMAC became “Ally Bank.” And Arthur Andersen became “Accenture.” Even psychotropic drugs carry names like “Abilify”
Can’t atheists do the same thing and adopt an “A” brand?
