Looking back on former selves: Once upon a time I was so sexually prudish and moralistic, as I prepared to enter the Seminary, that while listening to John Cougar Mellencamp’s “Loving Mutha Fo’Ya” I would turn down the volume over the last sentence of the following verse:
“Squeeze me girl don’t let me fall
I want to walk, don’t want to crawl.
Make me feel like a man after all.
Let me put my kickin’ mule in ta your stall.”
As you move out of 2015 into a future you, what former self can you hardly believe was ever part of you?
