Gone Focusing: Day 30

75% of a 40 day Facebook fast complete.

Not much tangible to report, other than I missed blogging day 29 because I was sick. Yes, I watched the State of the Union address.

I also finished reading Moby Dick. 8 days.  Not bad.  Good book.  Probably appeals to my arcane sensibilities more than most, but I loved it.  Here’s a great quote —

Who ain’t a slave? Tell me that. Well, then, however the old sea-captains may order me about—however they may thump and punch me about, I have the satisfaction of knowing that it is all right; that everybody else is one way or other served in much the same way—either in a physical or metaphysical point of view, that is; and so the universal thump is passed round, and all hands should rub each other’s shoulder-blades, and be content.

Loyalty

Trump’s apparently asked the Deputy AG, Rod Rosenstein, are you “on my team?” Trump is asking Rosenstein to declare personal loyalty, violating his oath to serve the Constitution. Trump is explicitkly destroying our nation’s institutions, and I believe for personal gain.

Loyalty means “are you willing to cover up my bullshit even though you know it is wrong?”  The President should be out of office over this behavior. Period. Would that a Republican would stand up to fight back in defense of our nation against this stain on our nation.

The Republican congress is squinting real hard to not see their integrity leaking away by the gallons.

If I were on Facebook I’d probably be busting a vein.  Everybody — rub somebody’s shoulder blades and give comfort through this mess.
