Oscar Nominations came out this morning, and Parasite has received 6 Nominations.

As Variety notes, this is historic.  Parasite is the first Korean film nominated for either Best Picture or Best Foreign Language Film.  And it was nominated for BOTH! Only the 6th time in history, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Best Picture 2020 Nominees: 1917, Ford vs Ferrari, The Irishman, Jojo Rabbit, The Joker, Little Women, Marriage Story, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and Parasite.

I believed it should happen. I will admit I was ignorant that such a double-nom had happened five times before, so it is not as unbelievable as I thought.  All one can say for this film, its director Bong Joon Ho, and the cast and crew who made it a reality:  “RESPECT!!!
